Peck Ritchey, LLC founding Partner Kerry R. Peck has been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list as a top attorney in Illinois for 2016 – for the 10th consecutive year.
Peck Ritchey, LLC Partner Timothy J. Ritchey, Senior Associate Brandon E. Peck, Associates Jesse A. Footlik and Andy Lau have once again been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for 2016.
Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state receive this honor. This selection for this respected list is made by the research team at Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.
Kerry Peck concentrates his practice on trust and estate litigation, estate planning and administration, probate, guardianship, and elder law. He is the past president of the 22,000-lawyer Chicago Bar Association. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association’s Commission on Law and Aging. Kerry is chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section Council, he is a member of Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, and is a co-author of Alzheimer’s and the Law, which was published by the American Bar Association in August 2013.
Timothy Ritchey focuses his practice in the areas of estate and guardianship administration, probate and trust litigation, fiduciary defense litigation, elder law, and estate planning and administration. Tim also serves as a Court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, assisting the Court to protect disabled and elderly persons. Tim spoke as an expert witness in front of the Illinois Senate in Springfield, IL about proposed changes to the Illinois Probate Act with regards to financial exploitation of the elderly and disabled; he drafted the bill which helps extend remedies for victims of financial exploitation and their families.
Brandon Peck concentrates in guardianship litigation and administration, trust, probate, and fiduciary defense litigation, elder law, and estate administration, with an emphasis on contested trusts and estates. Brandon is a contributing author to the book Alzheimer’s and the Law. He currently serves as a director of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. Brandon is a member of the Junior Board for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, serving as chair of Education and Advocacy. Brandon is also actively involved with both the Illinois State Bar and American Bar Associations Young Lawyers sections.
Jesse A. Footlik focuses his practice in the areas of trust, estate, and guardianship litigation and administration and elder law, with an emphasis on contested trusts and estates. Jesse has successfully litigated cases on both the trial and appellate court levels. Jesse is an active member in the Chicago Bar Association, where he serves as vice chair of the Probate Practice Rules and Forms Committee, and he also serves on the Chicago-Kent Alumni Council as a vice president.
Andy Lau counsels individuals and families, business owners and closely-held businesses. Andy’s practice includes estate and asset protection planning, business planning and structuring, special needs planning, estate and trust administration, probate and tax law in the areas of gift and estate taxation. Andy is member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and Chinese American Bar Association of Chicago. He is active in the Chinese community in Chicago, volunteers his time at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Chicago, and is fluent in Cantonese.
